TEKNOFEST Flying Car Simulation 2025 — Finalist

About the competition

The TEKNOFEST Flying Car Simulation Competition is run within TEKNOFEST, Türkiye’s national aerospace and technology festival, organised together with the T3 Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Teams do not build a physical aircraft. They develop the control and decision software for a flying vehicle inside a shared simulation environment, and that software is then evaluated against defined flight tasks.

The format removes the manufacturing budget from the problem and leaves the engineering. Everyone works against the same physics and the same scenario, so the difference between teams is in the flight logic, the stability of the controller and how the software behaves when the scenario stops being ideal.

Selection is made through written reports before the final. TEKNOFEST competitions receive very large numbers of team applications, and only a small fraction of them are invited to the on-site final.

The result

Our team was selected as a finalist in the 2025 Flying Car Simulation Competition. The 2025 edition of the festival was held in Northern Cyprus (KKTC).

What the stage asked for

A simulation category rewards discipline. Code that works once in a favourable run is not a result; the same code has to survive repeated runs and edge conditions. Preparing for the final meant tightening the control loop, making failure states explicit, and being able to explain in review why the vehicle behaves the way it does.
