About the competition

The TEKNOFEST Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races are part of TEKNOFEST, Türkiye’s national aerospace and technology festival, organised together with the T3 Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Teams design and build their own electric vehicles and are judged on how far they can travel on a fixed amount of energy, rather than on outright speed.

Entry is staged. Teams first submit written design reports covering the vehicle concept, the powertrain, the electrical architecture and the safety systems. Those reports are reviewed by the competition jury. TEKNOFEST competitions receive very large numbers of team applications, and only a small fraction of them are invited to the on-site final.

The result

Our team passed the report stages and was selected as a finalist in the 2024 edition of the Efficiency Challenge Electric Vehicle Races.

What the finalist stage requires

Reaching the final is not only a design exercise. A finalist team has to show that the vehicle it described on paper actually exists, that it can be built within the declared budget, and that it complies with the technical and safety rules of the category. That means documenting the drivetrain and battery decisions clearly, keeping the electrical system inspectable, and being able to defend each choice in front of a jury.

The work behind this result is documented in the linked project entry, which covers the vehicle itself in more detail.
