About the fair

BUCA IMSEF — the BUCA International Metropolitan Science and Engineering Fair — is a student science and engineering fair held in İzmir, Türkiye. It follows the familiar science-fair format: projects are grouped into categories such as engineering, energy, biology and software, exhibited at stands, and assessed by category juries who visit each project in turn.

Judging happens face to face. Jurors read the project, then question the student directly about the method, the evidence, and the limits of what has been shown. Medals are awarded within each category on the jury’s assessment.
